What a way to make the most of a summer’s day! Drive on down to the beach and sit back, relax and soak up the summer sun. Take a good book by all means, but spare some time for conversation with your date. After all, the purpose is to have a lovely day out together.
Pack the swimsuits, some towels and sun lotion so you take a swim in the sea or maybe even play some frisbee on the sands? Remember to be young at heart and enjoy the experience.
With this in mind, how about a fish and chip lunch too? Remember when you used to be able to eat them out of newspaper, down by the sea front? The air was so fresh and there’s just something about the whole experience that encapsulates a day by the sea.
- Towels / sunscreen / wipes
- Sun lotion / sunglasses
- Picnic and drinks
- Book / Music player
- Frisbee (optional)
- Plan your day. Is there a beach nearby or will you need to travel. Make sure you plan in enough time. Also think about the time of year that you will be going. You will more likely want to go in the summer months when you can sit back and enjoy the sun but remember that it will probably be more busy then too. You don’t want to spend half your time in traffic queues. If there’s a quieter spot you can take advantage of then that might be a good option. Of course, if you want to take a stroll along the beach in autumn time, it can also be quite nice if somewhat a different experience.
- Prepare. Get all your snacks and drinks ready; make sure you have all your swimwear, sunscreen, aftersun, hat, towels and a bag to put your wet swimwear in. Once you have everything packed up you’re ready to go!
- Sit back, relax and enjoy the day together. Take time to chat and just get away from everything. It can often feel like time’s stood still when you’re away from the crowds. And that can only be a good thing.
