Mature Hearts caters for everyone over the age of 40 and this brings with it many benefits. As we mentioned in a previous article, you can narrow your search in a number of ways. For instance, if you’re interested in local dating and want to find someone near to you then you can do just that. Equally, if you’re looking for someone between the age of say, 70-90 then you can narrow down your search that way too. What this gives you is the flexibility to help you find people most relevant to your search. But it can also go a step further. In this article, we will look at some of the opportunities to search for people with a shared interest.
Importance of a shared interest
What’s great about finding someone with the same interests is having that shared experience. There’s nothing else quite like it. On Mature Hearts we cover a wide range:
- Pop music
- Classical music
- Jazz music
- Country music
- Rock music
- The arts
- The outdoors
- Keep fit
- Sports (playing)
- Sports (watching)
- Green issues
So as you can see there are quite a lot of different interests to choose from! What’s more, you can register with Mature Hearts for free to get an idea of how many people in an area you select within the age group you’re looking for are also searching for love and friendship. Play around with the different options to increase or decrease the number of people that are being shown in the results. Once you’re logged in, you just need to go to the top navigation bar shown left. Hover over the second option along ‘Search’ and then click on ‘Search Members’. From here you should see the search area appear on the page with the option of choosing the various interests on the left-hand side of the screen.
The spice of life
This is where it starts to get interesting. Simply select the interest of interests that you want to search on and the list of members automatically updates.
If you’re interested in eating out then restaurants may be on your checklist. Then you can browse the profiles to see who likes the same food as you, has the same outlook such as enjoying trying something new and exploring new places to eat. Likewise, you might want to find someone who loves classical music. And this is a good place to start. You can then take a look through the profiles that are offered up to see potential kindred spirits.
If you decide that you want to get rid of an interest, simply uncheck the box and a new set of search results will show on the screen for you to look through. It is important to spend some time making sure you get this part right and don’t rush things.
However, one thing we always suggest is to be open to people that do have a slightly different take on your area of interest. Yes, part of life is to find someone who has a shared interest. But by opening yourself up to different aspects of an interest that you either hadn’t previously considered or didn’t think you liked, could offer new opportunities to learn and grow – and who knows you might also find romance along the way.
